Protein and fiber at every meal, not a juice cleanse

Satiety comes from protein, fiber, and volume (vegetables). Crash diets cut muscle and rebound. USDA MyPlate still works: make half your plate fruits and vegetables, and choose whole grains.

  1. Include a palm-sized protein at breakfast (eggs, Greek yogurt, leftover chicken, or beans).
  2. Keep cut vegetables and fruit at eye level in the fridge; put cookies on a high shelf.
  3. Eat slowly enough to notice fullness. It takes about 20 minutes for the signal to catch up.
